Methodology
Sources
Tennessee Law Directory draws from official public sources, in this order of authority:
- The official public attorney roll for Tennessee - license status, member type, admission date, firm and contact information, keyed on the stable bar number.
- Law firms' own published websites (for rosters, titles, and photos).
Verification cadence
Bar records are re-checked on a rolling schedule by our research systems, with records connected to judicial service refreshed more frequently. Every attorney page shows when its bar record was last verified.
Display policies
- License status is stated as recorded in official public records. We do not editorialize, score, or rank attorneys by these records.
- Street addresses are suppressed for judges and for records whose bar-listed address appears residential - city and state only. Published contact information is business contact information from sources that already publish it.
- Deceased attorneys are flagged and their profiles carry no contact information.
Corrections
Errors happen - records go stale between refreshes, and matching is imperfect. The corrections process explains how to get a record re-verified.
